Roy & Angela & Diego & ?

Today was an exciting day for Maryana, it was the day to public defend her thesis, on which she worked the last couple of years. Of course I went there (Angela and Diego weren't able to join). Boudewijns sister Rachel together with Arnold were so kind to pick me up from home, and we went to Enschede university, on the other side of Holland. During the drive, we had a nice time to catch up with the baby stories, Rachel about Scott, and I of course about Diego (Always nice to share experiences )

When arriving around one o'clock, we were just in time for the big happening. Maryana started with a general presentation on what subject she did her thesis. You want to know the subject? Yes? Really? Ok, here it is: "Nanofabrication of Bioinspired Architectures with light harvesting proteins"....

Looking at the subject, you can imagine that sometimes it was a bit hard to follow

After the general presentation, the professors arrived to ask difficult questions. Maryana was giving very good answers (at least I think), and some hour later the suffering was over for her.

She received very nice compliments of the professors on her subject, and that her material was good for coming years research (I think a better compliment you cannot get). So she is now official "DOCTOR"!!! Very good! Congratulations!

We are very proud of you, and know for sure you will be able to find a nice suitable job!
